The 12-year-old’s triumph came at the Trampoline and Tumbling spring event series in Sheffield. Newton-Young has been working on his NDP level seven since January it paid off. Because he performs at a national level, he moved to the Crawley club to train three times a week. He has been sponsored by Bognor Rugby Club, AJ Parker Vehicle Services, Kevin Holland Funeral Service and The Royal Oak (pink) pub. His mum Nathalie said: “They were a very great help and support. We are now looking for more sponsors to help Philippe to continue the sport he loves best by competing at national and international level – ultimately he wants to compete for his country at the Olympics. “Philippe would like to say a huge thank-you to all the support he received from his sponsors – he is looking for some more to help him to carry on the sport he loves.” His next competitions will be the Sussex championship at Uckfield on July 19, then Cardiff for the third league compettion and the final league competition on November 21-22 at the Olympic Park in London.
